I know you can make custom catalogs on DC using products from specific suppliers or product types, but is there a way to enter products not currently available on DC to make a custom catalog?

Under the ACCOUNTS tab go to CHILD ACCOUNTS

In the upper right hand corner you will see a link to "ADD CHILD ACCOUNTS".

At the COMPANY TYPE field choose "FULFILLMENT"

Fill in any required fields necessary. This will provide you with a second account on DistributorCentral with functions similar to a Supplier account EXCEPT it is private and the products can only be seen by you.

You cannot combine products from your Fulfillment account catalog with Supplier products. Separate catalogs are required on your website.

DistributorCentral charges $50 per month for this if over 10 products are setup. You can go in, add products, and check it out. You may wish to print out the user manual and read the sections on product setup. In addition we have live webinars every day teaching Suppliers about product setup that you can attend. You will not be able to send orders from a Fulfillment account to a Supplier account.

The Company type "Company Stores" is a scaled down version of a Distributor account. It does not show Supplier contact information but allows access to the DC product catalogs. It was setup to allow Distributors to setup accounts where corporations could check on sales for their company stores without allowing them access to Supplier contact information.

The Fulfillment account DOES NOT have inventory management. You will have to run sales reports to manage your inventory.

Tom,

I never knew this option existed! Since I've read this thread I've been playing with the system because this opens up a whole lot of options.

I seem to have figured out how it works, but the only thing I can't figure out is how to turn off the imprint option, for an item that is a stock item with no imprint options available. No matter what I try that "Personalize Your Product" page comes up in the process. How can I bypass that option??

I'm so glad to know that this feature is actually available. Unfortunately I was told very recently by DC customer service that this could not be done.

The feature has been available for a few Distributors for testing. We are now opening it up to the entire industry.

Although we have a testing enviroment there is nothing that beats real use by real users. We do make available new features on a limited basis to a few Distributors so that we can get some live usage before making the feature available to all.

Too many Distributors do not know what they want with a company store or what they want to accomplish by adding their own products. On some features the support costs are higher than the incremental revenue we may enjoy. We are concerned this may be the case with this feature. We are only mentioning it on DistributorTalk and not to the entire Distributor network to see if our assumptions are correct.

I have a few products set up and integrated into my website already and I think it is an absolutely awesome feature. Especially since I started using DC as my main ordering system for both on and off line customers.

Way to go DC. I'm hooked.
