Amazing how bankruptcy laws work. They don't have the money to pay me for what was owed when they went under a few years ago, but have the resources to buy other distributorships.

But, but, but they said you WILL get paid. I read it!!!

I became a friend of a supplier of bags out here in Los Angeles and the greatest one was when he had to return monies paid by Halo before the Ch11 since it was considered a preferential payment.

Like you said, amazing

Just a little comment from someone way, way down on the totem pole: Wasn't the founder of Halo an ASI Person of the Year a few years ago? And didn't Tom Roller, formerly of Norwood and principal in a lawsuit against five distributors, write an essay on ethics for ASI in the midst of the lawsuit? Do you think some people suck up to biggies?

Yes, it is amazing.

Not only did many orders not get paid for (leading to reps not getting paid via their factories), but then, a number of Suppliers went into bankruptcy.

Once again, amazing how the bankruptcy laws work, a couple of my former Supplier partners (I used the term much more loosely back then) soon thereafter, also filed for bankruptcy and reorganized, coming out to market again under different legal names.

Many of us in the rep world took double hits. Not getting paid on the original Distributors' orders when they didn't get paid, and then gettin' tossed to the curb by some of the suppliers that folded their tents therefore not getting paid for months of commissions from businesss well outside of this distributor effect.

Needless to say we take a different approach when we consider new Supplier Partners nowadays . . .
