Is this for REAL?
I have been receiving email periodically from PPAI (a newsy letter so to speak)
and the last one told about a company offering free services, such as research, etc. for distributors) called Promotional Marketing Distributor Marketplace (www. pmdm.com)
I logged onto this web page and was completely surprised. I signed up, free, and was amazed at the amount of products and supppliers available. This is a tremendous search vehicle, at absolutely no charge to me or any other distributor. They ofer a lot of other free services, such as a virtual presentation on any product, email presentations to our customers, using product for a distriibutor's web page if so desired, etc. I don't know how many of you are familiar with this and PPAI just told me about it in their newsletter. They have nothing to do with it, and I'm not sure who owns this or how they make their money to keep it going. They so have banner advertising on their web page.
I would like to know if anyone knows anything about this. Is anyone using this. Does anyone have comments, etc.
Thanks....

PMDM is a good company with good services. This is another model of offering valuable services FREE to Distributors with Suppliers picking up the tab.
There have been inferences by Distributors that if it is FREE "is it for real?" Our industry is experiencing a switch in business models among service providers primarily because Suppliers want their information available to ALL Distributors. The Service Providers that charge Distributors do not serve over 60% of the Distributors. There are a lot of Distributors Suppliers are missing with ASI and SAGE.

Gil, I have been using pmdm.com for a year and have been happy with them, as you can see they have many suppliers aligned with them in there short online time in the business.
Next time you are on ask for a Promotional Marketing Buyers guide, sometimes the old school way has its benefits, it has a master list and a product list cross reference. There are companies in there that I dont believe are on the site and it gives you more options and all the website addresses for the companies you may be looking at and then you can either get a PDF catalog or request catalog for your files, the cost says $75.00 on the front well worth it if you have to pay,I was lucky I got mine at the ASI Chicago show for free.
Supplier listings-Complete contact information for more than 3500 suppliers
Product Index Yellow Page Directory, Including More than 1,500 Product Categories
I believe it is run by Promotional Marketing Magazine.
Good Luck, Enjoy PMDM it is my first search engine I use, simpler than DC which is my second search engine, havent had a need for any others, use the Buyers guide for third option takes more time but no expense except the time which I normally do after selling hours.

It's a great resource.
Unfortunately, they don't have every obscure item but the searches are usually productive and very fast. Sometimes an item isn't well represented by their advertisers. In that case, they have an option to see all suppliers who make this product. When you click there, you get really every company's contact info who carries a similar product.
The magazine is pretty good, too. At one time, you could call the editors and they would look up sources for odd items but I think they have discontinued that service.
They seem to be very responsive. When something on the website wasn't functioning properly I had an email dialog with the webmaster for several days - then it was fixed and I got an email apology. Nice people!!!
All in all something great from and for our industry!

Thanks to all who have responded to my query about pmdm. I don't the search is very quick....takes a long time to load when asking for a particular product, but the concenpt is good and well done. I still like SAFE even though it costs me (not much) and I never liked ESP, but then that's everyone is different. We all have our likes and dislikes.
