How do you search the forums for a particular subject. I thought there had been a forum search box before, now all I find is a google search box. What I thought I had used before was a fill-in box to the right of the page. I would put in a particular subject of interest, and hit search and would be directed to many different threads that contained what I was looking for. Am I missing something?

Danged if I know. There used to be a standard search tool plus an advanced one that allowed you to be more specific, but I don't see it anymore. This must be one of these new "improvements" to the site. :)

Isn't that what the Google search at the top does?

Yep... and its about 10x more accurate than the old site based search.

Now that I understand to put "sellpromos+(search)" into the dedicated Google box, the new search works for me, although I don't necessarily think it is that much more accurate than the search that used to be on the site. The other Google links are not useful, in my opinion, although they are clearly here to generate revenue for the site, which is fine. Chris has done a terrific service to all of us and deserves any revenue he can generate. The pop up window that appears whenever I click on the link isn't pleasant, but maybe it is a necessary evil. As for the other links...promotional gifts, promotional pens, promo givaway, and promo gifts, I don't get those at all. They either navigate you off the site to a distributor site, usually a large one, like 4Imprint or to a manufacturer that sells direct to end users. I would think that any link would open a new window to keep us on the Sellpromos site. Also, neither distributors nor suppliers need links to those types of sites, so I am not sure what purpose they serve here...but I'm willing to learn. -- Marty

I "second that" on several things Marty mentions: annoying pop up boxes, missing the ability to search for prior conversations, being sent to supplier's sites, including those that sell to the end user (Myron & 4imprint, for example). I could see those being in an exclusive search to help distributors be aware of end-user only sites, to check ourselves to make sure we're going to be competitive.

When I use industry sites, like Sell Promos, I want to find product, get answers, etc. The extra clutter is aggravating and making me frustrated to use this site until I figure out how to avoid this extra junk.

It would be nice if more people gave feedback on this, plus Chris' input would be enlightening when he has a chance.

I find searching directly via Google from the outside is better......Because you can used the "advanced" tools to narrow your search results to a certain time period....
