Yesterday we received an online order for blank items through our Distributor Central site.
I'd received a phone call earlier about this item - the girl that called told me she was an ASI Distributor, and needed to get these 4 $20 pieces right away, blank, and she wanted to know the "discount" - ha!
I instructed her to get on her ESP or SAGE account and look this item up, and she could find out who the supplier was to get the right price. Nice as pie.
About an hour later, here comes an order from her, with a credit card
Turns out she works in the Purchasing Department of the Supplier, but were having these shipped to her home for some crazy reason. She also gave me her CELL number instead of the office number.
Without realizing all of this, I simply processed the credit card (president of the Supplier company) and sent the order off. I got a call just now from the supplier telling me this item is discontinued, and further into the conversation, they CS person realized that the Ship To Name was the same person that works in purchasing!
It was only then that I looked closer at the ordering customer's email address - it had the same @domain as the Supplier's @domain - aha!
Funny world we live in.

RFG Line is a supplier, but is owned by distributor Gold Mark Promotions. Be aware.
Megafast is sneaky - be sure to read ALL the fine print. Cooper & Clement will screw you on shipping, and then might sell direct to your customer.

ok- thought#1-
She kinows this item is discontinued but that there are 4 left in the warehouse- she wants them herself, but the company won't let ehr buy them or have them, or buy them at that distributor discount she was looking for.
She calls a distributor to buy them (finds you in their system, or googles and finds you, whichever) and attempts to place the order.
Of course you then place the order with said supplier who automatically catches it as a discontinued item...
Wonder what will happen to her from here? But then again, you mentioned she used a company credit card to pay??? Weird.. don't know about that one.

No... supplier's vendors run out of items and then they go online looking for a new vendor. They find a distributor like us listing THIER products, and think they can buy from us to fill that order that is in house.
Pretty funny actually.... :D

All possible, except that there are not 4 in the warehouse. It's been discontinued for a few months. and of course the supplier is pointing at DC for not updating their products fast enough.

Or the supplier was short with inventory for an order (or a fix) and she tried to find the same item from some place else. Willing to pay sell price just to get the order fulfilled - that would be a good sign.
Or the supplier is testing their own order system.
Or someone should check the other charges on that President's credit card.

I think you're giving the supplier and their purchasing person way too much credit.
But that's our Isa, always looking on the bright side. :)
