Hello Everyone,

I am in need of some good ideas for a church promotion.
The church is having a celebration and wants me to come up with a few promotional product ideas. I really want to come up with something outstanding. I the banners, t-shirts and magnetic calendars but I was wondering if anyone has any other ideas.
let me know if you do. Thanks

I did a church thing a while back...they didn't go full scale, but here are a couple of things.

They were up north and it was in winter so they got the ice scrapers. They thought it was GREAT!

They also purchased the magnetic memo clips. Everyone uses them and they put the church info on it. They have a christmas parade and they got enough to hand out during the parade as well.

Another thing they did was colors for the kids. Some kids who come to church sit in the service and they have special bulletins for the kids - with word searches and stuff...and the colors came in a box of 4 I think (red, blue, green yellow) and it had the church info on the box. They were fairly inexpensive - and the kds take them with them....

That's all my client did.

good luck!

is there a budget per item? ongoing items, or something to commemorate the celebration?

Good suggestions.

Tucker, is there a theme to the celebration?

Thanks for the responses.

The event is still some time off and the committee is currently nailing down the theme. Since I handle all of their graphic design needs & printing needs, I'm not very concerned about them just fishing for free info. They are just getting an earlier start. I wish all of my clients thought this way. They say they're not sure on what items cost, they are finding it difficult to nail down a budget.

Renee, I love the coloring/activity book idea for the kids. I am definitely going to try to work that in somehow. And Royce, the sun catchers would be good as well. I will look into those.

Stadium cups are handy for a lot of things - obviously drinks, but you can also add a lid and make them a container for items for the kids. Or the church could print up bible sayings on slips of paper and put one in each cup. Then have people exchange sayings with someone else every time a bell is rung. That way people meet each other, and the exchange of the sayings gives them something new to read and think about. Or print the cups in a multitude of colors, then have the people group by cup color for any games, team events, whatever.

Lapel pins and repositionable bumper stickers or window clings are a good way for church members to recognize each other around town during the rest of the week.

If the event is in the summer, hand fans are always appreciated!

QUITE IMPORTANT.
What is the PURPOSE/THEME of the celebration and BUDGET (quantity & unit cost max)?

Costs determine selections...

I have used seed packets as the invitation for Come Grow With Us theme and special activity. I either used forget-me-nots (so as not to forget the date) or Texas Bluebonnets (wildflowerts). People brought their packets to the event and a prepared area at the church grounds was used for everyone's personal planting.

I have also used baseball cards (with church-supplied photos of their teams), visors, frisbees, spinning tops and other outdoor event items.

Something that is a bit pricer, but maybe give as door prizes or sell, are lighted ball caps from Panther Vision (http://www.panthervision.com). You can have things embroidered on them like "Jesus is the Light", "God said, 'Let there be light'", or "Let your light shine." You have to order by the dozen to get wholesale pricing.

We offer chocolate cross done in gold or silver foil with the name of the church debossed into the chocolate, and we have had some churches do a 4 colour wrapper bar. You can find us at the chocolateinn.net Good luck!

What about Cross keytags from Waldor (asi 94770)? Also, if I'm not mistaken, somebody has church banks. Art L.

A commemorative Christmas ornament would be nice. You could do a nice pewter one, or I have done the colored globe ornaments from Galactic Line. I put a beautiful drawing of the church on it, with the year. No freight charges if you are in the Cleveland area (like me). Galactic is on 117th St.
I've also done stainless steel travel mugs and water bottles and they liked those. I've also done little "collection boxes" for the children to put their coin contributions in (The Chest). These turned out great.
Good luck.
