That's great! I especially like the cover and the talking points!

If this is aimed at promotional products distributors, then why would you not include the imprint charge (laser engraving) in the listed price of the product? Or maybe I'm reading it wrong.

I thought about it but I still get quite a few blank orders even from the industry so I wanted to keep it as an option but I think that may change in the next catalog. Thanks for the input!

I agree with putting the laser charge into the price and the information. While we do order blanks for some projects, we are used to calling to find out blank price, or thinking of the blank price as less than what we see.

Or you could list blank prices as a percentage discount.

I would look at it this way - people will be happy to pay less for blank. But if distributors don't read the information and assume the pricing they see includes decoration (as with most of the industry suppliers), then they have a problem if the client has been quoted. Just better to have a change in price be down, not up.

Ok, I can see that. But, then I would change the verbiage to be the same. The general info needs to say laser or the footnote needs to say engraving or maybe combine them and call it laser engraving. The way it written could seem is that laser and engraving are different. I know they are not, but you will get questions. Most products (except apparel) include an imprint, so you want to make it as clear as possible.

And then you can open up for discussion in a different thread, if distributors like to see e-mail addresses and how to order on supplier catalogs ;)

Looks great David, however, it does not matter what crowd you appeal to, the other half will want it the opposite way.....

Prices should reflect what you are showing. You are showing lasered products, not blanks. Distributors will not read the "laser not included".

David, the bottom design is much better than the top. Here are a few thoughts and perceptions;

From the nature of your products, your focus with the "Bringing you a Wave" is not as relevant to your product line - compared to the fact that you have a unique line of products in our industry, and that they are high quality, interesting, beautiful, and green." Your headline should emphasize these
aspects. It would be much stronger in your branding effort.

The "Earth Friendly" phrase with your script typestyle treatment is stronger than Eco-Friendly...much better. Your items appear to be upscale, yet your logo does not convey this feel and sensibility.

Just my initial thoughts...IDEAGUY

After many hours brainstorming what the heck our promotional catalog should look like... I finally decided on a simple 2 page (4 side) layout and to make the cover a little fun... I drew up some wacky ideas and ended up with the beach cover ALSO at the bottom is a more "normal" cover...

Which cover do you guys like better? TOP or BOTTOM?

Anywho... final touchs are going to be made shortly but just wanted to see if you guys could spot anything before I send this to the printer... (yes i know there are no prices in there!)

Enjoy! :)

David,

While Royce had a great comment on side of industry identifiers, and Isa, well Isa always has good input . . . Chris's "logo all product" post got me thinking . .

How are these decorated? imprint? FDA safe inks? are they etched?

Some of my questions may have already been addressed and/or planned to be added.

What is the imprint / etching area available on each item? What about the location options for the decoration?

Anyway make sure that you look through the standard items that many suppliers place in the "small print" somewhere.

Are many of these items going to be addressed on DC, SAGE, ASI or you own web site? Are you going to have a separate website dedicated for Promotional Markets? Will it be a link from your retail site?

Maybe all the fine folks on this board can give you lots of best practices that you should try to incorporate so you have more of your T's crossed etc. and the tools that you offer up to the resellers have lots of the questions that they try to answer and provide for their end users.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the feedback Ideaguy!

Not sure if you saw but I posted a updated catalog toward the bottom of the first page. We ditched the whole wave thing as it was too far out there.

I do think we should have used the price with engraving but it was too late to change that. Next update will have this for sure.

Have a happy holiday and hope to see you in January!

Thanks everyone for the help! I really appreciate the effort and time everyone took to give me pointers on this catalog. Without it i'd probably be 10 versions back!

If you'd like a catalog please PM me with your info and i'll send one out.
