A couple of days ago I got an invite from one of my Facebook buddies to Hug a Ginger Day. I was confused – like what’s the occasion? So I spent a little time with my friend Google. (BTW: a “Ginger” is a nickname for a redhead.)

I am a proud ginger, but unfortunately, due to the South Park thing my teenage daughter hates being a ginger. What a shame that anyone ever has to feel embarassed or ashamed because of hair, eye, or skin color!

It's sad that your daughter hates being a ginger. I think it is the best (no offense to chocolates, icicles and vanillas!)

I never even knew there was a nickname for redheads, other than redhead :D Honestly though... they are some of my favorite people in the world. :D
