I have a client that is re-branding from a national chain to an independent store and need some ideas for promotional products and apparel to help with the rebranding and grand re-opening.

Looking for a combination of nicer client gifts, promo giveaways, and even some branded items they may sell in the front lobby.

I am not sure where you would find these, but I thought this would be a good idea... what about anti-glare laptop covers. I bought one recently for about $25 and use it all the time, I love catching up on my e-mails outside in the sun in the morning!

You could look at the various kits / beauty items from Custom HBC.

Also maybe some mint tins from Admints.

Maybe a custom sticker made in the shape of their logo.

Other thoughts, mirrors, nail files, manicure/pedicure kits, lip gloss/lip balm (don't need sunburnt lips;))...

That's all I can think of right now...

Have you thought of Custom Flip Flops, from NeetFeet, that brand their name all over the beach ?
They also work as a retail extension, loyalty program, or membership promotion.

LED candles would provide nice atmosphere but keep risk down. There are really nice ones in our industry that have real wax outside. I would suggest a very subtle logo impression, and give them to good clients who tan regularly.

Aloe Up also has some wonderful creams and sunscreens. Great packaging too. Their products are really top grade, well tested and trustworthy. It might seem odd to give a sunscreen to a tanning client, but the idea is that they don't want to get sunburned outside, they want controlled exposure in the salon. Or give them creams and lotions and lip balm (as previously suggested).

Waffle weave kimono robes are good to have in any salon. You might suggest tone on tone embroidery if they are going to be given as gifts.

If they have a wicked sense of humor, how about the logo toasters, that make toast with a burnt-in logo? It would be a great holiday gift or major gift or earned reward (after X number of dollars or visits). Hilarious, because it reminds people to not get burned out trying to get tanned on the beach, but to trust the salon instead. Toast is for breakfast, not for your tan!

Small glass vases can be decorated discreetly, and used to hold the lucky bamboo or flowers. Give those to clients on their birthday or other threshold.

There are inks that are color-changing with UV exposure. Talk with your screen printer to see if they can obtain them and print up some shirts. Combine this with regular inks, and every time the client wears the shirt outside, the salon logo would be colorized. It would also tell the client when they are getting exposed to UV outside of the salon.

I have a tanning salon client (2 actually). I did rhinestone t's and hoodies. They wanted something nice but comfy. They LOVE LOVE LOVE them! I got them from a promo from In Your Face Apparel here in TX. Minimum of 20 pieces and each piece was $15 I think. I've slept since then so I cant remember exactly. But they are really great for the salon.

They also wanted to do flip flops, cutsie key chains, sunglass cases, apparel to sell, candles, jute bags, beach towels and some other things. Will think.
