I wanted to let DT users know that a fellow distributor suggested I used Riptaw Graphics for art that I was having trouble with. I've used them twice. The first one was relatively easy ($15.00). The second was a really bad xerox copy that I scanned and sent over for them to recreate ($25.00). Both times, I got great results, the turnaround was fast and clients were very happy. I can't tell you how much time and effort I saved instead of going through the hassle of getting clients to send me art in a format that a supplier needs. I wish I had done this years ago.

Donna, this is one company that is 'off the hook'. They are the best as far as I'm concerned. They have a 24 hour service and probably shouldn't say this but normally comes back in less time.
I have clients that want to have something changed or done by their own people. If it takes more than one day I usually call them back and let them know I'll do it at no cost. RIPTAW does it and it is done. For a $15.00 bill to me, the client get a nice clean job, without hassles.
The best.

And, in multiple formats! I only have Illus. CS (a lower version). But when I get the art back, it is not only in the format I need, it comes back in .ai, .eps and a pdf as well! I can pull apart the art, stretch it, size it and change background colors.

It is http://www.riptaw.com. If you want to send art file (whatever format you have it in), send files to projects@riptaw.com. I put in heading "Request for Quotation". In your body copy tell them exactly what you want done, what format you want it in, etc. Be specific. They will send you a credit card application.

I am sure in your industry that you see all kinds of bad art. As a distributor, it is one of my biggest headaches. Glad I could help. I was hesitant at first to use any outside service fearing I would be ripped off. I am happy that a distributor friend recommended them.

I know a lot of web developers that are good with Photoshop and so on, but this is highly technical work and you need a bit of skill to figure out modern software.
Most screen printers need film positives with emulsion up to burn screens, in the old days we use to get the film from offset printers, they would make it for us, now days everything seems to be going digital.
When I started out all we use to ask the customer for was a PMT (photo mechanical transfer), or for multi-color, film with registration marks for each plate.
