I am using firefox and find that when I open the pull down menu for "View Posts" it opens up behind the ad that is there.

Is anyone else having this problem? Not a big deal just curious to see if there could be an adjustment.

I too use Firefox & see the same things... sometimes. For example the Sign Line ad up now for me, works fine & stays in the background. However the Promo Cast ad always blocks part of the pull down.

I haven't had the problem with IE only Firefox and as Jim noted, it doesn't happen with every ad, only select ones.

I guess those advertisers are special.

Besides, do I really need to check back 4 or 8 hours? If 2 isn't enough, I can always click the 12 hour option.

What I run into is trouble replying to a thread if I don't click the reply button. When I forget to click first and use the standing reply box, I don't see smilies and my screen gets hung up on a ad page, although my post does get posted.

Curious, but not enough to cause me to lose sleep over these quirks.

Same problem here with IE. Also, I am having a problem when I use my Back Button on IE on this site only. It doesn't do anything when I use it. I have to click on my back menu and physically choose where I need to go. Anyone else?

same problem with IE here.

I also have the back button problem. It does work, but you have to click it a few times. What is happening is that the page is reloading, (maybe an advertisement changing somewhere on the page?) while you are reading the post. And every time it reloads it's like a new page to have to "back" through.

Depending on which computer I'm on, I have some difficulty with Firefox on some and IE on others.

Note for Jim,

When you're out selling across two states and use public library, Holiday Inn, Choice or Marriott hotel computers, they don't let you choose your browser software.

And I still have to copy my posts on my desktop computer (Firefox), click the Post Reply button, and then paste my post because I forgot that I get a new page that hangs up with a google ad when I do the "Quick Reply."

Note for Dennis,

When I travel to tradeshows from one end of the country to the other, I bring my laptop with built in Wi-Fi and an AT&T cellular card. That way, other people don't choose for me.

Jim,

I carry my laptop also, just like I did Thursday and Friday for my Houston trip. But although I could get connected to the wireless in Baytown, the browser wouldn't launch and connected. I had to resort to the hotel's business center.

Other times I want to be able to print something, so I'll use the house computers.

Might as well know that if I surf while using their computers, I may run into the same glitches on this and other sites.

And some of the rural areas I service in Louisiana don't have the wireless signal available in most medium to larger cities.

Firefox used to work fine for me on everything, but since they did a bunch of their updates, all kinds of problems both in D.C. and in Yahoo with everything hanging up. Messages do go through but it keeps telling me that it is sending.....forever.

Opera ;)

The only time I ever use the other "makeshift" browsers out there is when I'm testing to see if a site will load correctly in them. (funny, I never have to worry about that in Opera...:D)

I disabled quickreply for the time being. Just click "Post Reply" to reply to a thread now. The other problems I am not able to replicate in Firefox, Safari or Opera. It's really tough to offer support for Microsoft products when they don't even support their own product. It's so much easier to just switch to a mainstream browser and avoid all of the headaches.

With the banner ad, it should only block 2,4,8 and 12 hours under "View Posts". Those don't seem too important for most regular users but I will look into it.

I'll look into all of it more when I get back.

Just FYI, back button works fine with my Firefox.
Also the View menu is NOT obscurred with Hardhat or PromoCast ads. Actually I don't remember it ever being obscured. Maybe folks could post which ads are the problem?

Isa, I just checked twice & my view menu was blocked by Promo Cast & Promo Pages. I use Firefox.

Hansen, Ring Central, Sign Line, Custom Hard Hat & Identity Mktg does not block.
