After a couple of months of hearing doom and gloom from suppliers, things seem to have turned around. Both suppliers and customers that we are talking to are much more positive, and it's just a total change in attitude coming from everyone.
Anyone else notice a 180 in the last month or so?

I would not say 180, but we have seen improvement.

I have to agree with Jim. It's not a 360, but our business never hit the rocky bottom that others have been posting about.
I've already written 35 repeat calendar orders for 2010, and have only 2 who are waiting until fall to commit to ordering.
And just yesterday, my largest single hospital buyer asked me to stop by. It seems the management has opened the vault and is allowing her to restock the promo closet with 11 orders for 11 departments. We should wind up with over $8000 total for this one customer.
Plenty more calendar orders to write before June 30th.
And my next Houston sales trip is scheduled for next week, so I can include the Showtime Expo Friday morning.
Both my Texas and Louisiana markets are clicking right along. :)

No one mentioned any such thing. Maybe you're referring to another discussion? ;)

1st quarter was down 18% compared to 2008.
April is up 14% as of today. Pending orders that have not shipped are up 34% based on this time last year. I may be more optimistic than some, but I believe that we will be up 30% - 40% in the 2nd quarter. People are starting to order again. People that did not buy in th 1st quarter are now ordering, just later than normal. This trend started about 4 weeks ago and we have had to go from a 5 - 7 working day turn around to a 10 - 12 working day turn around.
For us it seems the worst is over

you may be right... when you mention in the various threads here:
I have to agree with Jim. It's not a 360, but our business never hit the rocky bottom that others have been posting about.

After a couple of months of hearing doom and gloom from suppliers, things seem to have turned around.
Must be the my mistake!
