The emergence of Twitter search engines could provide a good marketing opportunity - it could also be the death of twitter.

Take a look at Twazzup - a twitter search engine. If you search for "Employee Recognition" - http://www.twazzup.c...yee+recognition - you can see who's tweeting about it. I could see where some enterprising folks would tweet back to all those folks, and drop in a link to their web store - offering some relevant merchandise.

Have any of you tried this? Would it work? What do you think?

Dave,

Thats what a lot of people are doing :)

Not only replying, but writing bots to automate the entire process. It will be the death of twitter, and is nothing more than another form of spam. When twitter becomes nothing but spam, people will stop paying attention.

Dave I thought you were too old to be Twittering. I know I can't Twitter as much as I used to.

Why is the thing you send when you use twitter called a "tweet", when it really is a "twit"

I see alot of people on twitter and have twittered a couple times but really do not see the sense in it.
I think it will pass as a social networking fairly quickly and maybe move on to more like instant messaging for blackberries etc.
