Hey Sharon, our parent company, MPDirect has over 150 collegiate licenses in watches and golf accessories. What are you specifically looking for?

The licenses we hold are only for golf accessories and watches. It's not a blanket license, sorry. Good luck.

Sharon, we got licensed for the University of Kentucky, as we had a friend that worked there. The licensing process is long & involved. Our license was for hospital uniforms, not items that would be re-sold (as in a university bookstore).
We recently rec'd paperwork stating that we had to comply with Fair Trade laws. Now, all we were doing was embroidering on shirts that we ordered from San Mar. The embroiderer was here in Ohio, so that was fine for Fair Trade laws. But what about San Mar?
Because our contact moved away from UK, and the likelihood of us getting any more business was slim, we let the license lapse.
I am telling you all these details because you may have questions that arise for ANY promotional item that has a collegiate logo on it. Most of the universities have said they will support Free Trade. This has implications for us as promo distributors.
For more info, go to www.clc.com. You can look up the info about how to get your company licensed.
Good luck!

Distributors also hold licenses. Tell us what school you are looking for, maybe one of us has the license. You can print on any item as long as CLC knows what the item is and who the supplier is. Yes, they know all my suppliers.
When we have provided all paperwork required by CLC they always have approved our requests. There is alot of paperwork involved.

And there are different levels of CLC licenses.
Some are limited to just 5 of their schools, but you get to choose which 5.
The biggest limitation is the basic license does not cover resell. So the products can only be given away. It also restricts you to selling to on-campus departments and organizations.
The full license to sell off-campus and for re-sell may cost more than you can justify.

Ok - So I was able to get my hands on the list of clc licensed vendors for the university....
Unfortunately the 2 items the customer wants - the suppliers are not on there... What's even worse is that our (all of us on DT) major competitor (starts w/ a 4) is on the list - everywhere!
The order is not that big, but these days any order is good! So do I try to convince my customer to choose something else or suck it up & send them to the "other" company so they get what they want/need? Unfortunately 1 item can only be had at 1 supplier & they don't hold the license... ;(
