I have a need for about 10 portable DVD players. I thought for sure I would find at least one supplier that handled brand name goods, but it seems to be eluding me. I thought New Products might have it, but it doesn't show up. Any ideas? I also have a contact in the insurance salvage business, and he may be a resource for me, but I'll take any advice that anyone can offer.
Thanks.

There are about 90 options on ESP On-Line. Can you be more specific with details of the product - specs, price...

Well, I must suck at this business, if there are 90 options out there and I didn't find one. She didn't have many requirements other than she would like a DVD player that is portable...and probably not too high end. It's a giveaway, so she can go with a more basic model.
Thanks,
Marty

Here are a few companies listed on ESP that sell Portable DVD's - there are several others, but these were the first 4:
Brainstorm Logistics ASI 41515
Fourstar Industries ASI 55207
Incentive COncepts ASI 62536
RMK Worldwide Inc. ASI 80289
Hope that helps.

I did find about a dozen options from 4 other resources on SAGE. I guess I was thinking that they would be a little less expensive than I found. I will contact the ones you suggested as well. Thanks for your advice, Mike.

They are not really suggestions - I have no idea who they are - I just found them on ESP online. Once you get your quote you may want to start another thread asking people if they have dealt with them before and feedback. Just a thought.

Hi Marty,
Try calling Greg Greunke. They offer premiums and incentive programs, and he seems to have quite a range of products. Tell him I sent you, from DT. greg@greunke.com
Also, just a thought, but some of the super stores (e.g. KMart, WalMart) seem to be offering portable DVD players for around $175. these days. You could always buy these and have them imprinted by a contract decorator in your area.
On portable DVDs in general, make sure of what you are buying. Some look wonderful and small and light - until you notice that the photo shows them without the battery, which adds some additional weight and size. Or, some are indeed portable DVD players, but they have no screen (!) and are made to attach to a TV or laptop.
I've had a Panasonic for years, and it is a great-great thing to have on long flights. Panasonic is one of the more expensive brands, but there are many others on the market now too. I bought an extra battery and some folding headsets too. If you can't get an imprinted DVD player, you can add on a decorated case or headsets. Leeds offers noise-reduction headsets, and there are other folding styles available. A small video camera case works well to carry the DVD player + headset + AC power cord + a couple of DVDs.
My final advice - an inexpensive brand is fine, and will work well, but I've heard some reports of short battery life or them being finicky. You might want to caution your customer that they are not intended for heavy use, like a shelf size system.
Good luck!
