For those of you familiar with Scott Kelby, author of many books on photography software tools, he and Matt Kloskowski are holding a Worldwide Photo Walk.

Go to this site and watch the video - it explains it best:
http://www.photoshop....com/photowalk/

Essentially you sign up to either lead a walk in your city, or go on an existing walk. You take photos for 2 hours, then you and your city group share their photos. The group leader uploads the best photos to a website, and the winning photos win prizes.

Best of city wins a copy of Scott's new book.
Best photo of all cities gets a grand prize package full of goodies

Sounds like a great way to have fun with your camera, meet other photographers, learn a little, and maybe win a prize.

For those of you who need an excuse to visit Maui, The Institute of Visual Arts (IVA Hawaii) is holding a photo safari in September, and extended Photoshop & printing sessions.

In the one day safari, you tour around Maui taking photos of the scenery and a professional model. Professional photographers Ben Willmore and Randy Hufford are on hand to give you tips.

In the subsequent sessions, Shooting for Photoshop and Printing Workshop, you learn more about camera work and Photoshop techniques, and also how to print on canvas.

These are pricey sessions, but some of you have expensive hobbies!

Sounds like a fun idea. Only trouble is, in Oconomowoc, WI, the walk would be over in about 10 minutes. Start at Floyd's Barbershop and end at Goobers Filling station. Done. ;)
