Sometimes internet problems can be solved my clearing your computer's DNS cache. This cache stores information about internet domain names and could cause you to continue to access an old site after it has been updated. This cache is completely separate from your browsers cache. This how to is not meant to solve all problems, but it can help in some situations. You can find more on DNS and DNS cache by using a google search (top of page, under search)

To clear your cache, you must run the command below from either a DOS prompt on Windows (Start -> Run - > Type "command") or via terminal on Mac (Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal). The commands are as follows:

On Windows:

Quote

ipconfig /flushdns

On Mac OS X (all versions except leopard)

Quote

lookupd -flushcache

On Mac OS X Leopard:

Quote

dscacheutil -flushcache

When I did this it came up with C:/documents1/owner

Does this need to be run directly from the C: prompt?
