I often forget how much I love summer. It is truly a time to relax and enjoy life.
Even though fall is my favorite season I find that it's always a rush rush rush busy busy busy time. Summer is great; the pressure of the business world seem a little easier to throw off.

So what are all of you up to this weekend. It's hot and steamy here in the northeast. We'll be lounging around in the pool and plan on having friends for steamed mussels and clams. May be lots of beer served!

We will be picking and eating the first of my amazing tomato crop this weekend. Can't wait!!!:D

As usual, I will be camping. The campground is doing Christmas in July this weekend, and we have already decorated our campsite a group of us are having a Turkey Dinner with all the fixings too. It is supposed to be in the 90's all weekend, so I am sure there will be plenty of beer drank! I uploaded 3 pics from my camera on my profile of our site, see new ones Monday.
Jacque, my tomatoes aren't ready to pick yet, but my peppers should be by Monday!

Summer is fresh tomatoes & watermelon... along with all the other fresh veggies. Last night my wife fixed a plate full of fresh, home grown tomatoes with fresh basil & fresh mozzarella cheese... sprinkled with olive oil & aged balsamic vinegar. YUM!

This is our first weekend without a softball tournament this summer so I will be sleeping in, getting out in the garden which is in sad shape and enjoying food other than nachos and hot dogs at the ball field.

I've got to stop visiting DT, people keep talking about food and making me hungry! I could go for a tomato sandwich with big slices of Beefsteak tomatoes, mayo, salt & pepper.

Going to a concert (local band).
One of the Harley-Davisdson dealers in our area has an events center next to the dealership.
They have concerts featuring local talent all summer long.
They even get a few "known" names every once in a while.
I think the Kentucky Headhunters are playing there in a couple of weeks.

Craig, if you go, don't get too close to the drummer, you may get lost in his sideburns!!

I just bought some food at wholesale (10lbs of salmon, 5lbs of tiger shrimp and some filet mignons) from a huge food distributor and bought 6 cooking magazines..so i'm spending some of my weekend in the kitchen! I love NOT paying retail!

I'll try and throw in a hike on Sunday morning when it's nice and cool in CA.

Jacquez, i just got back from NYC and CT (by the Sound) and it was hot but we were on the shore, so breezy. I brought some of the heat back to CA but it's cooled off. Nothing like a really cold beer from a kegerator. I'm not a beer person but i learned to like it just when it went empty. Then I switched to mango margaritas :)

Living in Rhode Island the Ocean State: Saturday afternoon we went to our town Beach for some 90 degree sunshine and went boogie boarding at Narragansett Beach in the evening. Sunday we went kyacking in Narragansett Bay for 3 hours and then went back to the local beach. There my neighbor gave us some quohogs( clams) he just dug and we had fresh clams zuppa for an early dinner. The clams were so fresh they wigggled down your throat. In the evening we went back to Narragansett Beach to boogie board in the 3-4 foot surf. The only cost was maybe 2 gallons of gas to get back and forth to Narragansett Beach. Our state has alot of problems, but our quality of life is great.

Sounds to me like the biggest off-hours pastime of our group is eatin'!

Just to continue the thread, we'll be heading up to our weekend place on a lake in the mountains of NE PA (I'm thinking about getting ready to work on figuring out how to put a photo of the place here). Having guests, as usual, and I'll be doing the cooking, as usual, unless someone surprises me by volunteering to do a meal. Here in my hometown it's been in the 90s and humid and it's usually 8 degrees cooler at the lake. Looking forward to it, even the 350 mile round trip at $4 gas.
