I received a notice from my K&B CSR this morning that Leeds is raising their prices effective June 30th.
Be careful when quoting out of the catalog and check with them by phone to verify that online prices are correct.

On Leeds' website they show pricing before and after tomorrow. Obviously you would want to quote the after June 27th price at this point.

Most of the Leeds products online show the post-June 30th pricing along with the current prices. I love their website.

Note: Leed's sent us in Canada, an apology for a previous email stating the price increase. At the same time, its a new Canadian website that will be available June 30th. LOL

They stated in this message that pricing in their 2008 catalogue remains in effect until Dec 31.

Everyone be careful out there (I can see the threads starting already about being burnt by price increases and website/catalogue discrepancies) ~ughhh~

Yes, it will be difficult as many suppliers have mid-year price increases... especially for distributors that just don't understand the price increases we vendors are receiving. Heck, just yesterday I had a distributor call up & complain that my cup prices had gone up from a year ago & stated his client wouldn't pay more. When I picked my fat arse up off the floor from laughing so hard, I asked if his client was paying the same gas prices as last year? Guess I won't be getting this job.

Cyndi most of any Leed's price increases in Canada will be absorbed by the change in exchange rate and the high amount they were using for exchange anyway....

That worked really well for them, huh? They are dying over there, can't move their 'high-end' products at ridiculous prices.

It's like Norwood's announcement at the end of last year saying they weren't going to compete on price, they wanted to be the 'service' leader. Look where that got them.

They did come out with a nice line of lower end products with 24 hour rush and no setup. Still, I would not want to be stuck with the higher end inventory at year's end.

Just to remind everyone that this original post was from 2008 (regarding the price increase). Leed's has in fact reduced many of its prices this year in addition to expanding its range of value-oriented items. Thank you Promo Man for pointing this out.

Regarding the "dying" comment, I am happy to report that Leed's is doing quite well and remains a very healthy company. Like most suppliers, we are managing our inventory levels and will continue to make investments to support our distributors.

I'll chime in and say that I'm a Leeds loyalist. They have NEVER lets us down with an order, and any questions that ever arose were answer quickly and with satisfaction. Our rep Josh is pretty much the best you can find anywhere. Honestly, he should be training reps everywhere, worldwide.

We count on Leeds, and trust that we can order from their 24 hour service with no proof because they will perfectly deliver on the artwork, decoration, and shipment.

Yes, their product line has traditionally been those items with a higher price point. But they have added lower cost items and no supplier is going to cover every range of product and price that distributors need. I hope Leeds continues to offer the best service anywhere. I appreciate having a supplier that FOR SURE will deliver, with reps who know their line, will help you cheerfully and will scramble when you need it.

If you want cheap crap from a supplier you want to babysit all day, go somewhere else. If you want quality and superb service, go to Leeds.

We also had a very good experience working with Patty and their custom group.

Just 'cause I'm sitting here waiting on hold with a factory (not Leeds), I'll give them a thumbs up, too. If it's a product line I know they carry, they're always the first place I look when I'm doing research. I know I can call Mike, my inside rep, or Matt, my outside guy (or Bernie in WS) and one of them will get back with me - usually within minutes.
They just tend to really match up well with my market (I don't do a lot of low-end stuff), and they bust their butt to make an order happen (correctly). I just had an order of 1000 lasered flashlights that they shipped within 48 hours of getting the art. It was a 4-day ship, so they could have extended production and asked me (really, my client) to pay expedited shipping, but they didn't.

(still on hold to check inventory...uggghhh.)

I forgot to mention their FABULOUS website. Good searching, great descriptions, and we can check inventory so it saves us those phone calls. Automated order status emails or we can check online. Submit orders and artwork online too.

Now they are offering distributor-branded sites.
